Devil's Club Oil
Our Devils Cub Oil is primarily used to massage aching joint and muscles. Distinctive with it's formidable tall thorny stalks, broad leaves and slightly sweet odour, it is a sensitive, slow growing plant found in BC's coastal forest land. Indiginous people consider Devils Club to be a powerful healer, and the Tang Center for Herbal Medicine Research at the University of Chicago studied the effect of Devils Club on cancer cells and found that in lab conditions it attacked certain types of cancer.
We carefuly harvest a small amount the plant, remove the outer bark bark, separate and shred the inner bark and infuse this in organic Olive Oil to treat arthritis, rheumatism and general joint pain. Loss of it's unique habitat to deforestation and invasive weeds is having an impact on this sensitive plant.

Plants are harvested from areas where no herbicides or pesticides are used. They are infused in organic oils whenever possible.
Some nut oils are used in this kitchen and therefore trace amounts could be present in any of the products.
If you have allergies we suggest that you proceed with caution before using any plant derivative.
Wild plants have been used for thousands of years, and information about them has been shared by generations of herbalists and healers in both verbal and written form. At Footloose we make learning an ongoing process and very much look forward to hearing from you. We feel that everyday in the forest is magical with the fresh oxygenated air, the lovely smell of trees, the sound of running fresh water and birds singing, wildlife going about it's business of living, and a rich tapestry of food and medicine everywhere! We are fortunate in Canada to have so much of this.
